[edit] About

GNOME Observer Daemon is an utility to help you to automate certain repeating observation tasks on your desktop.

Instead of checking specific sources for information manually everyday while loosing time, simply add the source to GOD and "get notified" when it has changed and actually put your "machine" to use.

Just add that website and forget about it until you get a nice notice that it has updated, get information when new mail arrived, give feedback if a specific IP/server is down, alert when a domain expires, do something automatically on a remote server and get notified if something is wrong, add alerts for ebay auctions, filesystem changes (inc. remote GnomeVFS support), ...

The aim is to safe your valuable time while keeping you updated if necessary.

A plugin system allows to implement various kinds of extendable observers or notification types.

GOD is free software, licensed under the GNU GPL.
